    Religious

Sometimes when things dont go the way they normally should, I stay quiet and listen to very old songs. Thats a wonderful stress reliever. The song that has been helping me today is from the movie 'Thiruneelakantar'. Released in the year 1940. Lyrics and Music by the great Papanasam Sivan. Singer MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar

    Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This man had a golden voice for sure.

    Dheena karunakarane nataraja neelakantane
    Dheena karunakarane nataraja neelakantane

mouna guruve dharane enai aaNda neelakantane
mouna guruve dharane enai aaNda neelakantane

I like this name meenalochini. My moms name is meenakshi :-)

    meenalochini maNaaLa thaandavamaadum sabapathe
    gnanigal manam virumbum neelakantane

I love the way MKT repeats 'mouna guruve'

mouna guruve mouna guruve mouna guruve mouna guruve
    dharane enai aaNda neelakantane

    aadhi andham illa harane aaaa
    aadhi andham illa harane

If you want to listen to this song, goto coolgoose and search for Golden Voice. All the famous songs of MKT are available :-)

    thaniye thannan thaniye

Somedays I get hooked to a single song and just cant get over it. For instance, I saw this song 'Thaniye thannan thaniye' from Rhythm last night.

thaniye thannan thaniye naan kaathu kaathu nindren
nilame poRu nilame un poRumai vendru viduven
    puriyaadha peranbe puriyaaadha peranbe
    thaniye thaniye thaniye

Right from morning, I have been listening to this song atleast 10 times !!!

October maadhathil andhi mazhai vaanathil vaanavillai rasithirundhen
andha nerathil yarrumillai dhoorathil ivaL mattum vaanavillai rasikka vandhaaL
andru kaNgaL paarthu kondoam uyir kaatrai maatri kondoam

This is another gem from the ARR-Diamond Pearl Combination. And this is my favorite line from the song. Wonderful lyrics!

rasanai onnum oru puLLiyil iru idhayam iNaya kaNdoam
naanum avaLum iNaigayil nila andru paal mazhai pozhindadhu

I didnt like the video of the song though :-(

ennudaya nizhalayum innoruthi thoduvadhai pizhai endru karudhi vittaL
oru jeans aNindha chinna kiLi hello solli kai kodukka thanga mugam karugi vittaaL

    Flying finn!

Another disappointing weekend for Ferrari :-(
Schumi banged into the back of DC's car and lost his front wing. I think that pit stop cost him some positions.
The car is improving, but still Ferrari have a long way to go to compete for the podium positions. I think Ferrari didnt plan accordingly this year for the new rule changes. The same thing happened in 2003. But luckily in 2003, the opposition werent this strong!
All said and done, Schumi did drive a wonderful race under the circumstances. He Jean and Ross have tasted success for too long, that they will never be contempt with whats happening now. I expect Ferrari to be stronger after the next 2 races! Lets see.

Having said that, yesterdays race @ Monaco was one of the best races I have seen in quite sometime. Not only wheel to wheel racing, but also damn hilarious. I dont remember the last time, when I was laughing whilst watching the race!

First things first. McLaren had a very good car and Kimi drove it very well. This guy is damn good. Everytime I see him drive a car, it reminds me of a knife cutting through butter. So damn sleek. This is the difference a great driver can do to a good car. The one time wonder Montoya also hasthe same machinery. But where is he? I wonder if Ron Dennis made a mistake by signing up Montoya?

I loved the way Villeneuve and Massa fighting for positions. he he. I think Villeneuve has realised that he will be kicked out at the end!

But the best part of the race was the fight between Webber and Alonso. It was damn hilarious and I couldnt stop laughing. It was a wonderful sight to watch. The fist pumping mechanics of Trulli, Webbers mechanics. Wow. It was too good.

After a long time, I enjoyed a race that Schumi didnt win!

Next week, the European Grand Prix @ Schumi's home town (Guess he was born 50 miles away from the circuit). Lets see! Guess Ferrari will go for the heavy fuel load strategy till they sort out their performance issues!

Whatever it is, F1 is back at its entertaining best :-)

    Decision made!

First and foremost a big thanks to everyone who commented for the previous post.
Folks. I am really touched. Felt very good after reading all your kind words.

Ok. The decision is that I am going by my mind.

For the rationale behind this decision, click here

My heart was with this girl from past November. To be exact from 28th of November. What started as a casual interaction, became a very passionate affair. I just couldn't survive with her. As days went by she was taking a lot of my time.

Like all relationships, ours also hit the roadblock frequently. Misunderstandings etc . She had lots of mood swings, and I found it very very tough to keep my composure. Not that am blaming her, it is just that I couldnt be patient.

Adjustment is the main thing in relationship. But there is a limit to it. I was ready to marry her, but she wasnt interested. I tried explaining many times. But no avail.

I took this relationship very seriously. But I have no idea what she thinks or what plans she has for the future. How long can I continue like this?

I met Madman at this point of time, and poured out my problems. He smiled and asked me to move on. Not just he. I spoke with god of blog world Lazygeek as well. He also asked me to move on.

Thats when my best friend Maverick, introduced me to someone. I immediately liked her. Not that I am ditching my current. But things go on, and life moves on.

I tried to explain this to my girl! But she didnt show any interest, but is again wooing me towards her using her charms! Features is not the only thing. They are good, but only to some extent. But there is no commitment.

For me, there is nothing in life without commitment. This is a personal decision, but still I always ask the opinions of my dear friends Praveen and Uma. They also liked my choice and asked me to go ahead.

And so my dear friends, I have decided to move from my current girl to the newone my friends suggested

    Wish me luck :-)

P.S. A big Thanks to Magix for his support!

    Kinks of India

I didnt know how to name this post. But I think I have named it better than TOI, for this article

This is a real life incident and the crux of the story is as below

"The unconscious exposure of body of a lady teacher during teaching could be an object of amusement for male students inside a classroom," observes Dr K C Satapathy, principal of DAV Public School at Chandrasekharpur here.

"Disturbed over its effects, the school has decided to make all teachers, irrespective of gender, wear an apron while teaching from the coming academic session. "

And guess whats the title of the article? Aprons for Exposing Teachers

No one can beat TOI when it comes to making even a simple stuff sound corny or kinky. And imagine their euphoria when it comes to reporting stuff like these.

Some more excerpts from the article I found damn hilarious are..
"Another benefit of using aprons, according to the school authorities, is that the teachers can save themselves form chalk dust. "

    This is the best one

"The common dress system will also help curb competition among lady teachers for wearing costly sarees and garments, he argued."

Now let me come to the first 2 paragraphs of the article.

"Remember young Rishi Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker peeping at a sexy Simi Garewal emerging from behind the bushes after taking a bath.

The scene is certainly part of Bollywood folklore. And, if a principal of a city-based school is to be believed, such sensuous scenes could take place even inside a classroom."

    God Save TOI Readers!

P.S. I fail to understand, why I was reminded of Little johnny when I read this article ;-)

    Hand signals
Guys and girls who are riding two wheelers. Ensure that you use hand signals while riding. Just now i witnessed an accident. A guy was riding his bike at decent speed. The right indicator of his bike was on for quite some time. He had forgotten to turn it off. And suddenly he turned towards the right. A car which was trying to overtake him hit him from behind. Luckily nothing happened to him. Minor scratches only.
After seeing that i felt it was a narrow escape. I feel it would be better if people can use hand signals even after the indicator is on. In india we have some cross roads every few metres. So even if you put the indicator on, people behind would not be in a position to know when you will turn. I feel it would be better and safe if you use hand signals.
Err. Trying to Blog from mobile. Hope it works

    Fantasies

I get wild ideas, when I am busy at work and there is a deadline.
For instance, right now I was thinking about my latest crush S.

Dont let your imagination run wild. Read on!

    Here goes my fantasy.

I was busy working. Around 9 PM types. Suddenly a voice 'Excuse me'. I turn around and find my crush standing. She doesnt have the access card it seems (In our company you need access card to enter into every floor) and wants to get out. I didnt say anything and just smiled. Took her till the door, open the door for her and smiled. She said Thanks. I replied saying 'People call me Prabhu'. She said 'I am S'. We shook hands and then I bid her bye. Came back to my work place. Find a mail from client that their servers will be down for next 12 hours, due to some urgent maintenance. No work! Hurrayyyyyyyyyyy. I shut down my system and get out of office.

My thoughts still on S :-)

    Sollamal thottu sellum thendral
    en kaadhal devadhayin kaNgaL
    Nenjathil kotti chellum minnal
    kaNNoaram minnum aval kaadhal
    oru naaLaikkuLLe mella mella
    un mounam ennai kolla
indha kaadhalinaal kaatril parakkum kaagidham aanen

I start my bike, and get out of the building. I find my crush standing near the bus stop, waiting for bus. Its pretty late. I stop, ask her if she needs a lift. It took some effort to tell this with a straight face.

oh kaadhalin avasthai edhirukkum vendaam naraga sugam allava

neruppai vizhungi vitten oh amilam arundhi vitten
    noyaai nenjil nee nuzhaindhaai
    marundhai yenadi thara maRandhaai
vaalibathin solayile ragasyiamai poo paRithavaL nee dhaane

Without any hesitation, she agrees and sits behind. She stays at koramangala it seems and it was near my way home. Some 7 to 8 kms from office. Unlike a madras auto driver I take the shortest possible route to reach Koramangala. And while talking to her and at same time riding, I missed noticing a pothole. Thud!!! Luckily we didnt fall, and I retained balance. And in this commotion, she held my shoulder for support.

    pengaLin uLLam padukuzhi enben
    vizhundhu ezhundhavan yaar
    aaLam aLandhavan yaar
    karaiyai kadandhavan yaar

We reach Koramangala, and she asks me to stop near this 'New Shanti Sagar'. She thanks me once again. I said bye and when I was about to leave, she asks me 'Prabhu. Dinner?'. I smiled and parked my bike. We entered the restaurant. She ordered for Samosa, and I butter masala dosa. I asked her why she is having just samosas for dinner. She replied saying, she had heavy snacks in evening and wasnt very hungry. She was very cute and even the way she had samosa was very cute. Tissue paper in left hand, she used to wipe her lips after every bite and then wet her lips. Cute!

    kaadhal irukkum bayathinil dhaan
    kadavuL bhoomikku varuvadhillai
    meeri avan bhoomi vandhaal
    dhadiyudan dhaan alaivaan veedhiyile

Post dinner, I dropped her at home. Before saying bye, I asked
'S. Breakfast?'. She was taken by surprise. It took some time for her to understand what I hinted ;-) Then she gave a big smile and said. 'Ok. 7.45 tomorrow morning. @ Shanti Sagar'

    End of fantasy :-D

Hmmmm. Ninaipadhellam nadandhu vitaal deivam yaedhum illai(If everything you think happens, then there is no god!) :-p

    Where did the money go?

Chelsea fans have been told all season money is the only reason we've been good this season . Look at the team details below. Courtesy BBC

Man Utd: Carroll, Gary Neville, Brown, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Fletcher (Saha 72), Keane, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney, van Nistelrooy.
Subs Not Used: Howard, Smith, O'Shea, Fortune.

    Booked: Keane, van Nistelrooy.

    Goals: van Nistelrooy 7.

Chelsea: Cudicini, Johnson (Jarosik 72), Ricardo Carvalho, Huth, Gallas, Geremi, Tiago, Makelele, Lampard, Cole (Grant 90), Gudjohnsen (Nuno Morais 86). Subs Not Used: Cech, Forssell.

    Booked: Makelele, Lampard, Gallas.

    Goals: Tiago 17, Gudjohnsen 61, Cole 82.

    Att: 67,832.

    Ref: G Poll (Hertfordshire).

Last night, the Man U team on the pitch was worth more than the one Chelsea fielded, so how does that work then?
How come Real Madrid with all of its money couldnt be at the top of la liga?

Move over Man U and Arsenal. We are here to stay at the top, without throwing Pizza's :-P

    kurangu kaiyil maala

I was watching KTV this weekend.

The song 'nalam vaazha ennalum en vaazhthukkaL' from 'maRubadiyum' was there.
Excellent picturisation of the song by Balumahendra. A single room with balu special lighting. When Arvindswamy sings
    'Nilavinai nambi iravugaL illai.
    viLakkugaL kaatum veLichathin ellai.
oru vaasal moodi maRu vaasal vaipaan iRaivan'

Revathy will be thinking about NizhalgaL ravi and on the verge of tears. Arvind Swamy trying to console her, and at same time hint that he is there :-)

I am sure Ilayaraja would have been elated when he saw the picturisation

I changed the channel to Sun Music and the song 'kaadhal sadugudu' from Alaipayuthey was playing.

Shalini and Madhavan. A newly married couple. The song was excellently picturised, showing the intimacy between madhavan and shalini. Excellent picturisation once again. Though the song was about intimacy. there was nothing vulgar in it. To borrow words from Tamil Heroines, indha paatu kavarchiyaa irundadhu. Aabasama illai :-D

No wonder ARR reserves his best for ManiRatnam!

Switched back to KTV. This time the song 'Ale Ale' from Boys.

Evlo arumayaana paatu. Hmmm. But Genelia was shaking her butt in the entire song as if some cockroach was stuck to it :-( Cha.

Kaduppu aagi TV off pannitu radio on pannina the song 'kurangu kaila maalai' from Mumbai Express. How apt?

It is really a pain, when an excellent song is screwed up while picturising. I really wonder what will be the thought process of the Music Directors, when they see such songs. Paavam.

So If I make a list of such screwed up songs then they will be
    1. All songs from the movie 'KangaLal kaidhu sei'
    2. iLamai enum poongaatru from 'Pagalil oar iravu'
    3. Ale ale, boom boom from boys
    4. Poove sempoove. Radharavi singing this song x(
    5. Kaadhalenum thervezhudhi kaathirundha maaNavan naan
    ..and the list goes on!

    Thank you

    My Dear Blog Readers,

Thanks for your wonderful support, that my blog is reaching around 20K hits (pssst. I myself would have contributed for 1500, but what the heck). I wanted to write something, and dedicate it to everyone of you.

I thought I will write about Crush. This is one topic, which is universal and that spreads across borders, lines of control edjatra edjatra. I think almost everyone in life would have had atleast one crush sometime or other in their lifetime.

Dedicated to all of our past, present and future crushes :-)

    1987

I was in 6th class. There was this girl SLD in my class. She used to sit diagonally opposite me. And she used to sit next to my friend Murali. Next to me was Murali's crush RJ :-D I always used to goto Murali's desk for some doubts and vice versa. My class teacher applauded us saying that we were proceeding in right direction. This is how friends should help each other in studies. That will bring the best out of me etc etc. And you know what she did? She interchanged places so that murali and me sat next to each other :-( I dont exactly remember what happened after that. But somehow I lost interest in her. Enakku nenavu therinaj naaL la irundhu SLD dhaan ennoda first crush

    1989

Miss S joined our school and she was our chemistry teacher. I think there was some special chemistry between us. I was the first one to question her on something about elements, and immediately she asked me to shift to the first bench. She was my class teacher as well. From then on, I had a major crush on her. Especially her eyelashes. Wow. I came to know she stayed close to my house. We used to start at same time in evening, and I used to push my bicycle and walk with her. She even came to my house once for that Navratri golu :-D I was heartbroken when got married the next year!!! Ippo nenachalum sirippaa varadhu

    1992

This time I had a crush on my junior J. She had an amazing voice. That was the year 'Roja' released and she sang the song 'Chinna Chinna Aasai' in our school culturals. Not just me. Many of my classmates had a big crush on her. But I was lucky. My maths teacher used to call us home for IIT training. Actually IIT training started in 11th class itself and it was a 2 year training course. So many times, the classes were combined. He used to give us an exercise and teach the 11th students something and vice versa. I was the favorite student of my maths teacher Mr Suresh Kumar. And many times I used to teach the juniors. Needless to say I started talking to J. But the moment I started talking to her, I lost interest in her. No idea why. Ava innoru payyana sight adikaraa appadinu theriya vandadhu vera vishyam

    1994

This was my second year in college. And I had enrolled for this GNIIT program @ NIIT. I was studying at Nungambakkam NIIT. 33/1 NH Road. Wow. It was a great time. In my batch there were around 30 people. And of 30, 20 were girls. We had a wonderful time. Most of the days, we used to bunk college and sit at NIIT only. Woodlands Drive-in was our favorite place. Everyday went there as a group. Eevryday one girl with me on bike. Too good. Girls from Ethiraj, Stella Maris, Queen Maris etc! Thats when I realised I can have multiple crushes at same time ;-)
Pasiyai marandhom peNNai kaNdu kavalai maRandhom peNNai kaNdu kavidhai maRandhom peNNai kaNdu. kallooori saaalai

    1996

I joined MCA in DG Vaishnav. For COBOL there was a teacher called R. First day she came in a black saree and we all were bowled over *drool drool*. Once again I became the favorite student and after some stage, I even told her about my crush. She has become a very good friend now. Rather I would say Friend, Philosopher and Guide. Even now I tease her with that black saree :-p Nyabagam varudhe nyabagam varudhe

    1999

I joined LnT Mumbai. Oh my god! What a time I had in Mumbai. I had been to mumbai many times during my childhood. But this time, I was bowled over by the beauties. Let it be railway station, bus stand, airport, market. Wherever I went there were girls girls girls. But too much of anything is not good. I dont remember any single crush in Mumbai :( Before I get to ogle at someone, someone else will pass by. Then I will be confused :-D Ore gujaals dhaan

    2001

Pune. The best time of my bachelor life till date. Every weekend we(I had many friends) used to go for picnic. Let it be Mulshi, Sinhagad, Lonavla, Khandala, Loahagad etc etc. Thats when I met N. She was the heart throb of our pune office. I would say crush on N is the best I have had till date. I didnt make any effort to talk to her. For some 1 month or so, I just used to breakfast, lunch at the same time she did :-D Many times, we were in same group because of common friends. Then eventually we started talking and as usual I got to know she was engaged :-( Sigh!!!!Engirundhaalum vaazhgha

    2005

The latest crush. This is for a month or so. Everyday I take a break for tea at 11 AM and 4 PM. Most of us do so. Thats when I saw this cute girl near the parking lot. Later I found her name to be S. She knows I ogle at her. And this was told to me by a common friend. Thats the reason for the Sixth Sense blog. And this S and the keyboard dancer are thick friends. I dont know when this bubble will burst, but till then its fun! Hey kuruvi. sittu kuruvi

Ok. This has become a very long post. Now time for climax and some gyan :-)

I have always felt that having crush is a great fun. No emotional attachment. I just like the beauty of the person. Starts there and ends there. And if it remains within this boundary it is fun. But once I start talking, that thrill goes away. Aaaha inba nilavinile oho jagame aadidudhe vilayadidudhe

    Road to Istanbul

    Today

    Liverpool vs Chelsea @ Anfield
Live telecast in ESPN from 00.25 hrs

    Tomorrow

PSV Eindhoven vs AC Milan @ Eindhoven
Live telecast once again in ESPN from 00.25 hrs.

Chelsea, fresh from their premiership success will be raring to go. Damien duff is doubtful, and it will cause them problems during counter attack. But having said that, Frank Lampard is in the form of his life. It will be a tight game.

And PSV have their task cut out. They are trailing Milan by 2 goals to nil. They need to score 3 goals, which I think is impossible against this Milan defense.

So AC Milan for sure is going to istanbul. Time will tell, whether it is the reds or the blues!

    My predictions:
    Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1
PSV Eindhoven 0 AC Milan 1

Saturday, I had been to Forum along with Ravi

We happened to find this toy shop, where they had miniature versions of all sports cars. Needless to say, I went gaga over the miniature ferrari.
It is remote control operated. (He said it had a digital antenna. I have no clue to what it means)
It can go upto a maximum speed of 30 km/hr). The remote has steering wheel, brakes and what not. The shop owner was a very enthusiastic guy. He took us to the parking lot, and showed us a live demo of the car. Needless to say it rocks!!It costs around 6950 Rs or something.

If someone wants to gift it to me, you have 2 months time. It is available in the 2nd floor of Forum Shopping mall, Bangalore. Okay?

P.S. Ravi has a short and sweet summary on bangalore bloggers meet. Please check his blog for the same!

    aRindhum aRiyamalum

Ok. Everyone was going gaga over aRindhum aRiyamalum. I thought I will listen to the songs.
    Hmmm. Interesting! Tunes are good.
If you listen to many Yuvan Shankar Raja's albums there are many a songs which have excellent lyrics. And those songs are so pleasant to hear. Listen to 7GRC or devadhayai kanden or april madathil. But in this movie, the lyrics are a BIG let down. I am sure, the songs will be a hit.

But it wont be a classic and be remembered for days like his other numbers. And it definitely is not because of the tunes. It is because of the lyrics.

So I find it a waste of time to review the lyrics for such an album!
